Everyone Supports the Town Board?

I’ve been told by the Town Chair that most in the Town agree with the Town Board’s position that the Town should have its own Fire Department. Sharing costs with the Village is not a good idea because of ALL the baggage. (Of course I’m paraphrasing the board’s position….)

Do you agree? Is this a good idea? Are people just telling the Town Board members what they want to hear?

Please sound off. A simple answer is OK: I don’t know enough to have an opinion, I don’t agree with them, I agree with them, etc.

They read this blog, let them know how you feel.

  1. I also disagree, I don't believe that most of the town residents agree with the board. The problem is that they don't care enough about the issue to get involved or state their opinion. Until the cost of this decision is made public and believe me there will be a substantial cost, the public won't waste their time on this issue. When the budget is presented this fall, that is when you are going to finally see people come out of the woodwork because their taxes will be going up.

  2. I totally disagree with the disbannment of the BBVFD. The board says it will be tough to start over and that we should accept change. This is not for the best of the town. This is going to be like an ugly ugly divorce in a marriage. This will cost the taxpayers sooo much more in lawyer fee's than people in the town even know along with numerous other buyout's. What a headache!!!!!!

  3. I totally disagree and more people that I have talked to - totally disagree - and I will keep talking. The monies that will be lost from the State of Wisconsin have not come into play yet - but they will. They can't even see the freight train heading right at them.
